CVE-2020-4675Network attack vector

Unauthorized actions via partial Referer validation

Published Jul 16, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Cross-site request forgery in IBM InfoSphere MDM Inspector 11.6 allows remote attackers to perform unauthorized actions through a trusted user. The web application accepts a Referer when an allowlisted domain appears only as the prefix of an attacker-controlled hostname rather than matching the whole origin. Exploitation requires an authenticated user to visit attacker-controlled content, and resulting actions are limited to that user's Inspector privileges.
