CVE-2020-4449Network attack vector

Unauthenticated information disclosure via unvalidated IIOP deserialization

Published Jun 5, 2020 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Deserialization of untrusted data in IBM WebSphere Application Server 7.0, 8.0, 8.5, and 9.0 allows remote attackers to read sensitive data. Traditional WebSphere insufficiently validates user-supplied IIOP data before deserializing a crafted object sequence. Authentication is not required, and successful exploitation discloses information from the server's root execution context without reported data modification or service interruption.
