CVE-2020-4434Network attack vector

Authenticated code execution via HTTP fallback buffer overflow

Published Jun 10, 2020 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Buffer overflow in the HTTP fallback service in affected IBM Aspera applications allows remote authenticated users to execute code or crash. IBM identifies the service but has not published the input, memory buffer, or missing bounds check that causes the overflow. Exposure depends on enabling the affected HTTP fallback configuration, and exploitation requires valid authentication and intimate system knowledge.
