Authenticated command execution via SOAP API
Published Jun 10, 2020 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Command injection in ten IBM Aspera products allows remote authenticated users to execute operating-system commands through the SOAP API. IBM has not published which SOAP method or parameter passes attacker-controlled input to a command interpreter or what validation is missing. Exploitation requires valid authentication and intimate system knowledge; successful requests execute commands with the SOAP service's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
