Administrative access via attacker-chosen SAML session
Published May 7, 2020 · Updated Nov 3, 2025
Authentication bypass in IBM Data Risk Manager 2.0.6.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to gain full administrative access. The SAML idpSelection endpoint accepts an attacker-chosen session ID and administrator username, and /albatross/user/login returns a new administrator password for that session. The path is reachable without credentials only when SAML authentication is enabled, a setting IBM states is disabled by default.
