Remote code execution via verb 134 overflow

Stack-based buffer overflow in IBM Storage Protect Server 7.1 and 8.1 allows remote attackers to execute code or crash the service. The SmIsValidVerbEx function in adsmdll.dll copies attacker-controlled verb 134 data into a fixed-size stack buffer with memcpy using an attacker-controlled length. Unauthenticated access to TCP port 1500 is sufficient; successful exploitation runs code with the server account's privileges, while the published proof of concept terminates dsmsvc.exe.
