Daemon crashes via undisclosed file system flaw
Published May 19, 2020 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Denial of service in IBM Spectrum Scale 4.2.0.0 through 4.2.3.21 and 5.0.0.0 through 5.0.4.3 allows attackers to crash cluster daemons. IBM identifies mmfsd and mmsdrserv as the crash targets but has not disclosed the triggering input or faulty operation in the file system component. The bulletin calls the attacker local, while its published assessment indicates unauthenticated network reachability; exploitation interrupts cluster and file-system availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
