Unauthorized actions via crafted HTTP POST
Published May 27, 2020 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Authorization bypass in the IBM Spectrum Scale GUI 5.0.0.0 through 5.0.4.4 allows remote authenticated users to perform unauthorized actions. A specially crafted HTTP POST reaches the vulnerable GUI path, but IBM has not disclosed the endpoint or authorization check that fails. Exploitation requires a privileged authenticated GUI account and can alter protected state; no confidentiality or availability impact is reported.
