CVE-2020-4338

Local credential disclosure via runmqras archive inclusion

Published Apr 16, 2020 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Information disclosure in runmqras in IBM MQ 9.1.4 allows local users to obtain sensitive data from a diagnostic archive. When -ftppassword is used, runmqras includes the supplied FTP password in its collected diagnostic data instead of excluding it. Exploitation requires local access and use of that parameter; disclosure is limited to data captured in the generated archive, with no reported write or service impact.
