Unauthenticated root code execution via hfpackage injection
Published Feb 24, 2020 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Command injection in IBM Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.0 through 10.1.5 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via an HTTP request. The Administrative Console Framework service passes an unvalidated hfpackage parameter into a system call. No authentication or user interaction is required, and injected commands execute as root with control over appliance data and services.
