CVE-2020-4205Network attack vector

Persistent access via stale certificate validation credentials

Published Mar 19, 2020 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Improper authentication in IBM DataPower Gateway 2018.4.1.0 through 2018.4.1.8 allows remote authenticated users to retain server access. When an API Connect TrustStore certificate is removed, the corresponding DataPower ValCred can remain unchanged and continue accepting it. The attacker must already possess authenticated certificate access, and the stale credential preserves server access after revocation.
