CVE-2020-4196Network attack vector

Credential disclosure via Tool Prompt Configuration XSS

Published Mar 3, 2020 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Stored XSS in IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus Web GUI 8.1.x allows remote authenticated users to disclose trusted-session credentials. The Tool Prompt Configuration page accepts embedded JavaScript in user-controlled prompt content and executes it when that content is displayed in the Web UI. Exploitation requires low-privileged access and another user's interaction; the script can alter page behavior and access data available to that session.
