Code execution via unescaped Git commit messages

Command injection in Mikael Brevik mversion before 2.0.0 allows attackers to execute operating-system commands through a crafted commit message. The mversion.update path inserts commitMessage into git commit and git tag strings passed to child_process.exec after removing only the first single and double quote, leaving shell substitutions active. Exploitation requires a client application to pass attacker-controlled text as commitMessage; injected commands run with the privileges of the client process.
