Unauthorized preview generation via missing CSRF validation
Published Jun 8, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Bolt CMS before 3.7.1 allows remote attackers to generate content previews through a crafted request. The Frontend::preview method accepted POST form values without checking dashboard authorization or validating the content_edit CSRF token. Exploitation requires inducing a logged-in content-authoring user to submit the forged request, and the bounded consequence is unauthorized preview generation.
