Resource enumeration via unauthenticated 404 responses
Published Jun 23, 2020 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Information disclosure in Atlassian Jira Server and Data Center before 8.9.1 allows remote attackers to enumerate certain resources. Unauthenticated requests to various resources return HTTP 404 responses instead of redirecting to the login page, creating an existence oracle. No session is required, and the discrepancy reveals whether targeted resources exist without granting access to their contents.
