Browser script execution via XML export injection
Published Jun 1, 2020 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Stored XSS in Atlassian Jira Server and Data Center allows remote attackers to run script through a crafted XML export. Atlassian identifies the XML export view as the injection locus but does not disclose the untrusted field or missing output-encoding operation. Exploitation requires low-privileged access and a user's interaction, and executed script can read or alter data available in that user's Jira session.
