CVE-2020-3905

Kernel code execution via Bluetooth input validation

Published Apr 1, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Memory corruption in Bluetooth in Apple macOS before Catalina 10.15.4 allows local users to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges. The Bluetooth component inadequately validates application-controlled input, corrupting memory, but Apple has not disclosed the affected routine or input format. Execution requires a malicious local application to be launched, after which attacker-controlled code runs with kernel privileges.
