CVE-2020-3805

Arbitrary code execution via use-after-free

Published Mar 25, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Use-after-free in Adobe Acrobat and Reader versions 2020.006.20034 and earlier allows attackers to execute arbitrary code via crafted PDF content. Adobe identifies the flaw as a use-after-free but does not publish the specific parser component or operation that releases and later reuses memory. Successful exploitation executes code in the context of the current user; the bulletin does not state a network service requirement or additional privilege gate.
