Local SYSTEM code execution via incorrect service permissions
Published Mar 25, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Insecure file permissions in Adobe Genuine Software Client 6.4 and earlier allow local users to escalate privileges on Windows. The Adobe Genuine Software Service assigns incorrect permissions to an otherwise unspecified service resource, allowing low-privileged code to modify it. Execution of low-privileged code on the host is required, and successful exploitation runs attacker-controlled code as SYSTEM.
