Stored XSS via unsanitized HTML figure
Published May 16, 2026 · Updated May 16, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in BuddyPress 6.2.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in privileged users' browsers. The wp:html block accepts a figure containing an iframe event handler and stores it without neutralizing the executable markup before page rendering. Moderator privileges are required to submit the crafted block, and execution occurs when an administrator or another privileged user previews or views the page, enabling session hijacking, phishing, redirects, or content manipulation.
