Application crash via oversized registration name
Published Feb 11, 2026 · Updated Feb 11, 2026
Buffer overflow in the registration dialog of Nsasoft SpotFTP Password Recover 3.0.0.0 allows local users to crash the application. The Name field copies a pasted 1,000-character string into a fixed-size buffer without checking its length, causing the process to terminate. Exploitation requires an interactive user to open the registration-code dialog, paste the payload into Name, and select OK; the observed consequence is a process crash.
