Local file disclosure via external XML entities

XML external entity injection in Top Password Software MSN Password Recovery 1.30 allows local users to read local files via crafted XML. The Favorites tab parses a user-selected XML document with external entity resolution enabled, allowing a referenced DTD to load a local file and send its contents in an HTTP request. Exploitation requires opening the crafted file in the desktop application and selecting View; the demonstrated consequence is disclosure of files readable by the process.
