Account takeover via exposed password-recovery tokens
Published Feb 11, 2026 · Updated Feb 11, 2026
Weak password recovery in WWBN AVideo 8.1 allows remote attackers to reset account passwords through exposed recovery tokens. The unauthenticated playlistsFromUser.json.php endpoint returns a user record containing password and recoverPass values, and recoverPass accepts that token as authorization for a credential change. Possession of a leaked token is the only reported gate, so any exposed account, including an administrator account, can be taken over.
