CVE-2020-37161Public exploit

Arbitrary code execution via registration name overflow

Published Feb 6, 2026 · Updated Feb 6, 2026

Stack-based buffer overflow in Socusoft Wedding Slideshow Studio 1.36 allows local users to execute arbitrary code through a registration name. The registration dialog accepts an overlong Name value into a fixed stack buffer, letting 256 bytes reach SEH and redirect execution through non-ASLR DVDPhotoData.dll. Exploitation requires Windows user interaction to paste the generated payload into Help > Register and click OK; successful code runs with the application's privileges.
