CVE-2020-37160Public exploit

LocalSystem code execution via writable missing service binary

Published Feb 6, 2026 · Updated Feb 6, 2026

Local privilege escalation in Veridium Software SprintWork 2.3.1 allows local users to execute code as LocalSystem on Windows. The installer gives Users full control of the SprintWork program directory while an automatic LocalSystem service expects the absent nvlsimw.exe, allowing a replacement binary to run at boot. A local unprivileged account with directory write access can persistently create an administrator or otherwise take complete control after a reboot.
