Account takeover via exposed password-recovery tokens
Published Feb 11, 2026 · Updated Feb 11, 2026
Weak password recovery in WWBN AVideo 8.1 allows remote attackers to reset user passwords by submitting exposed recovery tokens. The playlistsFromUser.json.php endpoint discloses each user record's recoverPass value, and the recoverPass route accepts that token to replace the password. No authentication is required to retrieve a user record or submit its token; exploitation takes over the targeted account without interrupting service.
