Database compromise via bundled phpMyAdmin remote login
Published Feb 3, 2026 · Updated Feb 3, 2026
Improper access control in Open eClass 1.7.3 allows remote authenticated users to access bundled phpMyAdmin and compromise its database. The modules/admin/mysql endpoint exposes bundled phpMyAdmin 2.10.0.2 for remote login by default; an uploaded PHP shell can then read config/config.php. Exploitation requires an Open eClass administrator account and an uploaded PHP shell, and disclosure of the stored MySQL password grants full database control.
