SYSTEM code execution via unquoted service path
Published Feb 1, 2026 · Updated Feb 1, 2026
Unquoted service path handling in Weird Solutions DHCP Turbo 4.6.1298 allows local users to execute code with SYSTEM privileges. The Windows service stores C:\Program Files\DHCP Turbo 4\dhcpt.exe without quotation marks, so Windows can launch an attacker-placed executable from an earlier path segment. A low-privileged local user needs write access to a searched parent directory and must wait for or trigger the automatic LocalSystem service start.
