SYSTEM code execution via unquoted service path
Published Feb 1, 2026 · Updated Feb 1, 2026
Unquoted service path handling in EnigmaSoft SpyHunter 4 allows local users to execute code with SYSTEM privileges during service startup. The SpyHunter 4 Service registers C:\Program Files\Enigma Software Group\SpyHunter\SH4Service.exe without quotation marks, so Windows can resolve an attacker-planted executable earlier in the path. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access, write permission in a searched parent location, and a service start or system reboot.
