Local code execution via unchecked Archive To input
Published Jan 29, 2026 · Updated Jan 29, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in Frigate Professional 3.36.0.9 allows local users to execute arbitrary code through the Pack File dialog. The Pack File handler accepts an oversized value in the Archive To field without enforcing a bound, overwriting the stack and Structured Exception Handler before transferring execution to attacker-controlled payload data. Exploitation requires local access to the Windows GUI to paste the crafted value and activate Pack; successful execution runs with the application's privileges.
