SYSTEM code execution via unquoted service path
Published Jan 26, 2026 · Updated Jan 26, 2026
Unquoted service path handling in IObit Uninstaller 10 allows local users to execute code with SYSTEM privileges during service startup. The IObitUnSvr configuration stores C:\Program Files (x86)\IObit\IObit Uninstaller\IUService.exe without quotation marks, so Windows can treat space-delimited prefixes as executable candidates. Exploitation requires a local low-privileged user to place a malicious executable in a probed path and wait for the LocalSystem service to start.
