Authenticated code execution via unchecked profile image upload
Published Jan 27, 2026 · Updated Jan 27, 2026
Unrestricted file upload in Victor CMS 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary PHP through a profile image. The admin/profile.php update handler passes the client-supplied filename directly to move_uploaded_file and writes it into the web-served img directory without validating the extension, MIME type, or file contents. Any registered user who can reach the profile page can upload a PHP shell and invoke it over HTTP to run commands with the web server's privileges.
