LocalSystem code execution via unquoted service path
Published Jan 25, 2026 · Updated Jan 25, 2026
Unquoted service path handling in Deep Instinct Windows Agent 1.2.24.0 allows local users to execute code with LocalSystem privileges. DeepNetworkService registers C:\Program Files\HP Sure Sense\DeepNetworkService.exe without quotation marks, so Windows can resolve an attacker-placed executable earlier in the path. Exploitation requires local write access to a searched parent path and service startup or reboot; successful code runs as LocalSystem.
