Browser script execution via unneutralized checkuser setting
Published Jan 25, 2026 · Updated Jan 25, 2026
Stored XSS in SeaCMS 11.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in a user's browser via checkuser. The admin_safe.php settings handler stores the checkuser value and later renders it on the settings page without neutralizing HTML or script markup. Exploitation requires access to the administrative settings action and a user to load the affected page, exposing that user's session-accessible data and actions.
