Local privilege escalation via unquoted service path
Published Jan 15, 2026 · Updated Jan 15, 2026
Unquoted service path in Flexense SysGauge Server 7.9.18 allows local users to execute code with LocalSystem privileges. The SysGauge Server service registers C:\Program Files\SysGauge Server\bin\sysgaus.exe without enclosing the space-containing path in quotes. A local user who can place an executable in a searched path prefix can have it launched at service startup, escalating from low privileges to LocalSystem.
