Authenticated arbitrary file access via absolute paths
Published Jan 6, 2026 · Updated Jan 6, 2026
Path traversal in Secure Computing SnapGear Management Console SG560 3.1.5 allows remote authenticated users to read, write, and delete files. The edit_config_files CGI endpoint accepts absolute paths in POST parameters and performs file operations without confining them to /etc/config/. A valid management-console session is required; successful requests expose or alter any file accessible to the CGI process and can interrupt the appliance if critical files are deleted.
