Arbitrary code execution via oversized report directory
Published Dec 5, 2025 · Updated Apr 7, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in Flexense DiskBoss 7.7.14 allows local users to execute arbitrary code through a crafted report directory. An oversized value in the Reports and Data Directory field corrupts stack memory and overwrites the structured exception handler, transferring control through an egghunter to the supplied payload. Local access to the desktop interface is required, and successful exploitation executes code in the DiskBoss process context.
