Stored XSS via unescaped dashboard background color
Published Oct 30, 2025 · Updated Oct 30, 2025
Stored XSS in Nagios XI before 5.7.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a victim's browser via dashboard colors. The Dashboard background-color setting accepts user-controlled input that later renders without sufficient validation or output escaping. An authenticated user must save a crafted color value and a victim must view the affected dashboard, exposing browser-context data and actions.
