CVE-2020-36853Known exploitationNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated stored XSS via unchecked setup settings

Published Oct 18, 2025 · Updated Oct 18, 2025

Stored XSS in 10Web Map Builder for Google Maps 1.0.63 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject scripts through plugin settings. Setup functions run on admin_init without capability checks and store unsanitized settings values that are later rendered without output escaping. No authentication is required; the stored code executes for administrators in the dashboard and, in some configurations, for site visitors, enabling rogue administrator creation and backdoor installation.
