Browser script execution via decoded demonstration-page URL path
Published Apr 20, 2025 · Updated Apr 21, 2025
Reflected XSS in KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training before 2020-01-10 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript via a crafted link. The phishing demonstration page decodes attacker-controlled data from its URL path and places a JavaScript URL in a script assignment to window.location.href without neutralization. A victim must open the malicious link, after which the script runs in the application's browser origin and can read or alter data available to that session.
