Cross-user code execution via exposed authentication token
Published Jan 22, 2024 · Updated Jun 20, 2025
Token disclosure in CloudLinux CageFS 7.1.1-1 and earlier allows local users to execute code as another user via proxyexec. CageFS wrapper scripts read /var/.cagefs/.cagefs.token and expose its value as a proxyexec command-line argument visible in the process list. Exploitation requires disabled lve_namespaces or virtualized /proc protection and grants the victim user's privileges through the CageFS daemon.
