CVE-2020-36765Network attack vector

Cross-origin data disclosure via crafted HTML

Published Jul 16, 2024 · Updated Nov 6, 2024

Insufficient navigation policy enforcement in Google Chrome before 85.0.4183.83 allows remote attackers to leak cross-origin data via crafted HTML. Google identifies the Navigation component but keeps the underlying issue record restricted, so the exact policy check and wrong operation are not public. Exploitation requires a user to open attacker-controlled HTML; the demonstrated consequence is cross-origin data disclosure, not data modification or service interruption.
