Snippet state changes via missing nonce validation
Published Oct 20, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
CSRF in Themeisle Woody Code Snippets 2.3.9 and earlier allows remote attackers to activate or deactivate snippets via forged requests. The runActions() function accepts action requests without valid WordPress nonce validation and applies the requested snippet-state change. Exploitation requires an administrator with an authenticated WordPress session to follow an attacker-controlled link, and the bounded consequence is unauthorized snippet activation or deactivation.
