Field icon changes via missing nonce validation
Published Jul 1, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
CSRF in Cool Plugins Cool Timeline 2.0.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to save field icons through a forged administrator request. The ctl_save() function processes the icon-setting request without verifying a valid nonce, so the request's origin is not authenticated. Exploitation requires a logged-in site administrator to follow an attacker-controlled link or otherwise submit the forged request.
