Administrator access via loose HMAC comparison
Published Jun 7, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Authentication bypass in Wordable – Export Google Docs to WordPress before 3.1.2 allows remote attackers to gain Administrator access. The plugin authentication routine passes an attacker-selected algorithm to hash_hmac() and loosely compares the result with the supplied hash. Unauthenticated network access is sufficient to publish posts and pages or upload media files under temporary administrative privileges.
