Site takeover via unauthenticated plugin installation
Published Jun 7, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in ListingPro before 2.6.1 allows remote attackers to install, activate, or deactivate arbitrary WordPress plugins. The lp_cc_addons_actions function accepts unauthenticated request parameters that select a plugin action and can fetch an attacker-controlled ZIP without checking caller capabilities. No account or user interaction is required; installing or activating attacker-supplied plugin code grants control over the WordPress site.
