Subscriber-level script execution via unchecked theme options
Published Jun 7, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in theme options in Fruitful Code Fruitful before 3.8.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in visitors' browsers. The fruitful_data_save function in inc/func/fruitful-function.php stores unsanitized fruitful_theme_options values received through fruitful_theme_options_action for output across site pages. Subscriber-level access is sufficient because the AJAX handler performs no capability or nonce check, and planted script can execute for administrators viewing affected pages.
