Arbitrary file upload via missing import nonce
Published Mar 7, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
CSRF in JetBackup for WordPress 1.3.9 and earlier allows remote attackers to upload arbitrary files through a forged import request. The backup_guard_get_import_backup() handler accepts the import operation without validating a WordPress nonce, so a cross-origin request reaches its upload logic. Exploitation requires a logged-in site administrator to follow attacker-controlled content, after which the uploaded file can alter server content.
