CVE-2020-36544Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Cross-site scripting via unneutralized search input

Published Jun 4, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025

Cross-site scripting in SialWeb CMS Search Handler allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another user's browser. The Search Handler places attacker-controlled search input into a generated page without neutralizing script-related HTML tags. Low-privileged access and victim interaction are required; the published payload runs JavaScript in the CMS origin, enabling page-content changes and access to browser data available to that origin.
