CVE-2020-36529Network attack vector

System compromise via unvalidated traceroute input

Published Jun 3, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025

Command injection in SevOne NMS 5.7.2.22 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary OS commands through traceroute. The traceroute.php handler passes the SNMP Walk page's user-supplied IP address to the server's traceroute command without validating the input. Access to the SNMP Walk page and at least view-alerts or manage-devices privileges is required, and successful exploitation grants full system control.
